History (2015~2025)

2015~2022
Before debuting, the members of Kiss of Life had notable individual experiences. Belle is the daughter of veteran singer Shim Shin and worked as a songwriter for SM Entertainment. Natty appeared on the survival shows Sixteen and Idol School, reaching the finals but not joining Twice or Fromis 9, and later debuted as a soloist in 2020 with her single album Nineteen. Julie trained under The Black Label (a YG Entertainment sub-label) from 2017 to 2020.
On July 12, 2022, Natty signed with S2 Entertainment. In December 2022, Natty, Belle, Julie, and other trainees appeared in a British documentary about K-pop trainees, hinting at a new girl group. On December 27, 2022, S2 Entertainment confirmed plans to debut a girl group in 2023, and by February 2023, the agency had trademarked the name “Kiss of Life” and launched official social media accounts, marking the group’s official formation.
2023
K-pop girl group Kiss of Life officially debuted in 2023 under S2 Entertainment. The first teasers were released on May 12, 2023, with Natty revealed on May 15, followed by Belle, Julie, and Haneul. Lee Hae-in was announced as the group’s creative director on May 26, and their debut date, July 5, was confirmed on June 12.
Before debut, the members released solo music videos: Natty’s “Sugarcoat”, Belle’s “Countdown”, Julie’s “Kitty Cat”, and Haneul’s “Play Love Games”. A B-side MV, “Bye My Neverland”, came out on June 27, and the teaser for their debut single “Shhh” was released on July 3. Kiss of Life officially debuted on July 5, 2023, with their self-titled EP and the music video for “Shhh”, alongside a press showcase in Seoul.
Later, the group prepared their second EP, Born to Be XX. Teasers began on September 28, and the release date, November 8, was confirmed on October 13. The EP was released on schedule, featuring lead singles “Bad News” and “Nobody Knows”, with music videos released on November 8 and November 15, marking another milestone for Kiss of Life.
2024
In 2024, K-pop girl group Kiss of Life continued their rise under S2 Entertainment. Their single album Midas Touch was announced on March 15 and released on April 3. They made a summer comeback with the digital single “Sticky” on July 1.
On July 23, they released “Superpower” in collaboration with Riot Games as the theme song for the 2024 Valorant Champions tournament. Natty and Julie sang alongside Got7’s Mark Tuan and performed live at the grand finals in Seoul on August 25.
On August 26, the group announced their first world tour, Kiss Road, with shows in South Korea, the United States, and Canada from October to December. Their third EP, Lose Yourself, was announced on September 25 for release on October 15, featuring the title track “Get Loud” and the pre-release single “R.E.M”, released on October 4. The tour began on October 26–27 in Seoul, including a performance of the unreleased song “W.House”, and a European leg was added for February–March 2025.
2025
In 2025, K-pop girl group Kiss of Life reached new milestones and faced some challenges. On January 28, they became the first K-pop group to perform at the Sziget Festival in Budapest. In April, the group received criticism for cultural appropriation after a birthday video of Julie, which was later deleted. The members apologized, and they withdrew from a planned KCON Los Angeles performance.
On May 7, they released a special digital single, Kiss Road, featuring the lead track “Live, Love, Laugh”. On May 19, it was announced that their fourth EP, 224, would be released on June 9.
Kiss of Life will make their Japanese debut with the EP Tokyo Mission Start on November 5, 2025, including their first original Japanese song “Lucky” and a Japanese version of “Sticky”, expanding their presence in Japan.
