Treasure (Korean: 트레저, Teurejeo; Japanese: トレジャー, Torejā) is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment in 2019 through the reality show YG Treasure Box. The group has 10 members: Choi Hyun-suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jae-hyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong-woo, and So Jung-hwan. Two former members, Mashiho and Bang Ye-dam, left the group in November 2022.

History (2017~2025)

2017~2019

After the success of Big Bang, Winner, and iKon, fans eagerly waited for YG Entertainment’s next boy group. The group’s lineup was decided through the survival show YG Treasure Box (2018–2019), where 29 trainees competed for a spot. The final members: Haruto, Bang Ye-dam, So Jung-hwan, Junkyu, Park Jeong-woo, Yoon Jae-hyuk, and Choi Hyun-suk, were chosen to form TREASURE. Later, Mashiho, Doyoung, Yoshi, Jihoon, and Asahi joined as part of a second unit called Magnum, and together they became TREASURE 13. After Ha Yoon-bin left the group, the two units were combined and continued as TREASURE.

Before debuting, several members were already active in entertainment. Junkyu was a child model, Bang Ye-dam sang for animated shows, So Jung-hwan acted and performed with the K-Tigers Taekwondo team, and Mashiho appeared in Akdong Musician’s “Spring of Winter.” Choi Hyun-suk and Junkyu also competed on Mix Nine (2017–2018). Each member was recruited between 2013 and 2018 through auditions or casting, bringing years of experience and training before officially debuting as TREASURE.

2020~2022

TREASURE made their official debut on August 7, 2020, under YG Entertainment with the single album The First Step: Chapter One. The album topped charts, sold over 170,000 copies, and its title song “Boy” gained millions of YouTube views in just hours. Their The First Step album series became a huge hit, selling over one million copies and earning several music awards.

In 2021, TREASURE debuted in Japan with the song “Beautiful” for the anime Black Clover and their first Japanese album, The First Step: Treasure Effect, which reached #1 on the Oricon Chart.

In 2022, the group released The Second Step: Chapter One, featuring “Jikjin”, which became one of their biggest hits and won them their first music show award. The B-side “Darari” went viral on TikTok, and the single “Hello” was chosen by TIME magazine as one of the best K-pop songs of the year.

Despite two members leaving, TREASURE successfully held their first Japan arena tour and Asia tour, attracting over 420,000 fans in total.

2023~2025

In 2023, TREASURE began a new era with their Reboot project, teaming up with Columbia Records for global promotion. They also introduced their first sub-unit, T5 (So Jung-hwan, Junkyu, Jihoon, Yoon Jae-hyuk, and Doyoung), who released the pre-debut track “Move,” written by Junkyu. Their second studio album, Reboot, came out on July 28, 2023, and sold over 1.7 million copies in just two days, becoming one of their biggest hits. The title song “Bona Bona” reached their highest chart positions, while “B.O.M.B” topped Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart.

The group also achieved major success in Japan with “Here I Stand,” their first song to reach #1 on Billboard Japan Hot 100 and earn RIAJ platinum certification. They made history as the first Korean act to hold a fan meeting at Tokyo Dome, performing for over 500,000 fans across Japan in 2023.

In 2024, TREASURE released “King Kong” and the Japanese single album King Kong / Reverse, featuring “Reverse,” the theme song for the drama Legendary Head Sho. In 2025, Junkyu and Asahi became the new leaders, and the group released their EP Pleasure with the songs “Last Night” and “Yellow.”

TREASURE also held their “Special Moment” fan concert tour, performing in four U.S. cities and ten shows in Japan, meeting more than 150,000 fans. Their final concert in Saitama was broadcast live in over 100 theaters and aired on Fuji TV, bringing their total audience in Japan to over 970,000 fans.

Awards

Since debuting in 2020, TREASURE has earned major recognition in Korea and overseas, proving their strong rise as one of K-pop’s top fourth-generation boy groups. They won several Rookie of the Year awards from the Asia Artist Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and Seoul Music Awards, as well as Best New Male Artist at the MAMA Awards.

The group continued to shine with awards like Best Touring, Platinum Worldwide Star, and multiple Artist of the Year (Bonsang) wins at The Fact Music Awards. In Japan, they received Best 3 New Artists (Asia) at the Japan Gold Disc Awards and achieved platinum certification from the RIAJ.

TREASURE’s hit songs, including “Jikjin,” “Darari,” “Bona Bona,” and “King Kong,” have been nominated for Song of the Year, Best Dance Performance, and Best Music Video at top award shows.

By 2025, the group had collected over 40 awards and 100+ nominations from events such as the Circle Chart Music Awards, Brand of the Year Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards, showing their growing global success and loyal fanbase, Treasure Makers.

Concerts & Tours

TREASURE held their first solo concert, “TRACE,” on April 9–10, 2022, at Olympic Hall in Seoul, South Korea. The two-day show marked an important milestone for the group, featuring energetic performances and a special connection with fans.
