Plot Synopsis
King the Land is about Gu Won, the heir of a luxury hotel group, who gets caught up in a battle over his inheritance. He meets Cheon Sa-rang, a cheerful hotel worker who always smiles until she crosses paths with Gu Won, and their lives begin to change.

King the Land was a hit on JTBC, a South Korean cable channel. All 16 episodes, which aired from June 17 to August 6, 2023, ranked first in viewership. Nationwide ratings ranged from about 5% to 14%, with Seoul ratings slightly higher, averaging around 10–11%. The series’ highest-rated episode was the finale, while the lowest was the first weekend. These numbers are impressive for a cable show, which usually has smaller audiences than public channels like KBS, SBS, or MBC.
Awards and Nominations
King the Land and its stars won many awards and nominations. Lee Jun-ho received top prizes and popularity awards at the Asia Artist Awards, APAN Star Awards, and Fundex Awards.
